In the run-up to IFF 2026, we’re catching up With festivals attending this year’s event to explore the ideas, trends and experiences shaping the wider festival landscape.
What’s your advice for fellow bookers navigating the market in your region right now?
Be confident in your concept and stay true to your roots. More and more, it is a clear, niche vision — one grounded in strong values — that stands out and wins.
What does a strong agent-booker relationship actually look like in practice?
Open, respectful and fair. I strongly believe in transparent two-way communication, because that is what allows both sides to understand each other’s goals.
Are there genres or artists on the rise that the wider industry hasn’t caught up with yet?
All the time. But that is the kind of know-how I will keep to myself for now :-)) And as a patriot, I truly believe that Czech artists will soon be among those on the rise.
How would you explain IFF to someone who has never been, and why do you think fellow professionals should come?
It is an intense and highly efficient place where you meet all the key players of the festival scene — both agents and promoters. Our business runs on information, and this is where the information is.
What are you most looking forward to about attending IFF again?
All the meetings with people we have been sharing this journey with for several years now. I increasingly value long-term, friendly relationships where we grow together and keep pushing festivals forward.
